Why...?
SYNOPSIS OF DESTINY
Of course, you want a synopsis right? Yeah, I didn't think so, but I'm giving you one anyway.
What would you do if you awoke cold, lost and alone on an isle in the middle of the ocean, with no idea
who you were, where you were, or what anything meant? If it were explained to you, would you understand truth? Faith? Fate?
Destiny? It would be just as easy to be deceived as it would to understand.
Jake faces this insurmountable task. He begins absolutely blank, with only a double-bladed sword by his
side, and a desolate ocean surrounding him. Soon enough he stumbles upon the core of current civilization, the enormous city
of Alexandria situated in Gloria, the lighted portion of the glorious Saviorn. He finds a friend, Daemon, whose heart is pure
and who will help him learn the things he must know. But before he can settle down and try to cure his amnesia, a terrible
event occurs. The holy artifact and force that keeps Alexandria is suddenly stolen, on the brink of entering a second millennium
of peace. Just before he vanishes, the thief tells Jake that he knows him, and vanishes. He is Jake's only
connection to his past. In the midst of the chaos, Jake learns also that he could very well be an Essential, a savior
of that which the people know as the "Essence". Already faced with a thousand different vistas, he sets forth with Daemon
to return the holy artifact to Alexandria, while simultaneously trying to understand all of the things around him, and most
importantly, himself. An epic extended metaphor, Destiny is sure to enthrall, enrapture, and ultimately and hopefully, inspire.
**Note--Destiny is based upon and incorporating Tool's "Lateralus". Lyrics are below
Lateralus
Black, then white are
All I see
In my infancy
Red and yellow then came to be
Reaching out to me
Lets me see
As below, so
Above and beyond I imagine
Drawn outside the lines of reason
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.
Overthinking, overanalyzing
Separates the body from the mind
Withering my intuition, leaving
Opportunities behind
Black, then white are
All I see
In my infancy
Red and yellow then came to be
Reaching out to me
Lets me see...
There is so much more and
Beckons me
To look through to these
Infinite possibilities
As below, so
Above and beyond I imagine
Drawn outside the lines of reason
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.
Overthinking, overanalyzing
Separates the body from the mind
Withering my intuition, missing
Opportunities that I must
Feed my will to feel my moment drawing
Me outside the lines
Feed my will to feel this moment
Urging me to cross the line
Reaching out to embrace the random
Reaching out to embrace whatever may come...
I embrace my...desire to
I embrace my...desire to
Feel the rhythm, to
Feel connected
Enough to step aside and
Weep like a widow, to
Feel inspired, to
Fathom the power, to
Witness the beauty, to
Bathe in the fountain, to
Swing on the spiral, to
Swing on the spiral, to
Swing on the spiral of
Our divinity and
Still be a human...
With my feet upon the ground
I lose myself between the sounds
And open wide to suck it in
I feel it move across my skin, I'm
Reaching up and reaching out
I'm reaching for the random or
Whatever will bewilder me
Whatever will bewilder me
And following our will and wind we
May just go where no one's been, we'll
Ride the spiral to the end
We may just go where no one's been
Spiral out
Keep going
Spiral out
Keep going
Spiral out
Keep going
Spiral out
Keep going
